Tell Gov. Kasich: Grant a reprieve to Alva Campbell

Alva Earl Campbell Jr. was convicted in 1997 for the murder of Charles Dials, a crime to which Campbell confessed and pled guilty.

Campbell’s case was the first death sentence under Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien, who personally tried the case and consistently points to Campbell as the "poster child" for the death penalty.

Campbell is currently scheduled to be executed by lethal injection in Ohio on November 15, 2017.

Now 69 years old, Campbell is dependent on inhalers for four breathing treatments every day. He has limited mobility, requires the use of a walker, and is dependent on a colostomy bag. He has numerous serious medical conditions.

Tell Governor Kasich he can honor the Dials family by taking the spotlight off Alva Campbell. Let him die anonymously without the fanfare and attention of a state execution.
